It's not so much "whatever that means." It's whoever...

"Dear Elder Cannon: you are hereby called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Colombia Bogota North Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 24 months...You will prepare to preach the gospel in the Spanish language... "

Single, wake-boarding nerd...

Today I went boating with the Oak Canyon Singles Ward. It was pretty fun. We had 4 people that brought boats, so there was plenty of fun for everyone. I went wake-boarding, but I mostly just kind of chilled on the boat for most of the time. It was a nice day. The water was nice, wake-boarding was fun, and Tyler, Julie and Trent were there to hang out with. I also met Heather who I guess is in our home ward. I didn't know. :-/ I had seen her in the singles ward before, but I had never officially met her.

So, now that you know my life story and, stuff...here's a fun little nerdy tidbit of...my life. Or something.

Last night I was doing some experiments with my collection of 3D glasses. If you put on one pair of glasses, and then take another one and turn it around so it's facing you, and put it right up to the other glasses (...did that make sense?) then everything looks pink and blue and yellow. It's really cool. So, I took one pair apart, and placed two sets of lenses inside, and then tried to glue it back together. It didn't glue very well, but it held good enough. Anyway, then I had a cool pair of 3D glasses. They're not very useful for sunglasses, because they stick out too far from your face, so you can see almost as much outside the glasses as you can inside them. They're just cool to look through.

Anyway, that's the past day or so for ya. Yup. Pretty much. Blah...

Have a nice day, eh?

Welcome to Subway, how can I help you?

Customer: I'll have a Spicy Italian on 9-grain Honey Oat.

Joey: What kind of cheese would you like on that?

Customer: Um, provolone.

Joey: (cuts open the bread, puts on the meat, and then says:) What kind of cheese would you like on that?

Customer: (gives Joey a funny look, and then says:) Provolone please.

Joey: Oh...I already asked you that, didn't I?

...

This is pretty much typical after being there for 8 hours.

And.......kind of sad. But whatever. It's not the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to me at Subway. You don't need to hear that story...

Really, you don't.

Have a nice day. Come again soon!

Clouds

Friends give inspiration
late at night
When the only sound
is the clicking of the keys.
Twelve is a big number,
but with friends
it doesn't seem so big.
The clouds followed twelve.
Big and fluffy white.
There they were,
so surreal.
A painting
in the sky.

Things happened
that I don't quite understand.
White, Yellow, Pink, Orange.
Some call it science,
to others, it's a miracle.
And to me?
It doesn't matter, really.
It's a place to fly.
A place for escape.
A place where there is
nothing but clouds and sky.
Whatever it is,
I'm grateful.
To be able to escape
every night.
Never wondering how
Or where or when,
just,

Flying.

Upside-backwards.

So, there's this new thing called 3D, and it's amazing. It's like, the whole world popping out at you. Well, not the whole world. That'd be insane, but the movie your watching is totally in your face. It's amazing. It's like, nothing you've ever seen.

...except for every day you've ever lived! 3D is pretty cool, but it's just fake stuff trying to be real. Like, whoa! It's 3D! Yeah...did you come from a 2D world? ...probably not.

So, number 11 for me was in 3D! I found it in 3D at the dollar theater, so I was really excited and took my sisters the day I found out. Which was today. Anyway, It was great. Even the 11th time. But I discovered something about the 3D-ness of it that was pretty interesting, and as it turns out, painful. I was sitting there, watching Hiccup almost get fried by the monstrous nightmare, and I thought it would be cool to turn my 3D glasses upside-down. It was one of the weirdest things I've ever experienced. All of a sudden, the stuff that was supposed to be up close and sticking out was in the background. And all of the stuff that was supposed to be in the background was sticking out! It was way cool. So, after I had played around, putting my glasses on every way I could think, I decided that upside-down was the coolest way to wear them. I kept them on for probably 4 or 5 minutes, thinking my eyes would adjust. Yeah...no. I heard this story once about an experiment a guy did with glasses, kinda similar... He wore these glasses that made everything turn upside-down, which I'm sure would be a pain. I'd be bumping into stuff all over the place. But, after a while (this is the important part), his brain flipped it over, so he was seeing everything normal when he had the glasses on. And then when he took them off, everything would be upside-down. Isn't that sweet? So, the human brain is smart enough to figure out that everything is upside-down, and flip it over! That's cool. Well, as I was wearing my 3D glasses upside-down, I was thought, hey, if I leave them on long enough, my brain will just switch for me, right?

Wrong. It ended up just giving me a headache (which I still have...5 hours later). So much for that idea.

Anyway, this is my warning to you all: Don't wear your 3D glasses upside-down. But if you do (because it's really pretty cool), only do it for a few seconds. Then switch them back before you get a headache, or get dizzy, or anything like that.

Have a nice day!

Random

Sometimes life is random.

Other times it just kind of repeats itself.

Like there was this one time, when I totally thought it was going to repeat itself, but then it didn't. Random!

I read a book once, and I thought it might be cool because it had the same name as this awesome movie, but I was disappointed. You see...the book was different enough to be lame, and...it didn't have a soundtrack. What's the fun in that?

I went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple today and did baptisms with two of my sisters. That temple is officially one of my favorites. Except for the name. It's a pain to spell. Especially because spell-check doesn't like it.

You want to know what I like? Air conditioning. It's pretty much amazing. The only thing is...I don't have air conditioning in my car. I wish I did. That'd be great. Hey dad...you know how your car has air conditioning, and it's really nice, and keeps you cool in the summer when it's really, really hot? Well...see...my car doesn't do that. And actually, see...it's your car. So...I was thinking, well, you know...maybe, um, you could...you know. Ahem...um...you could, fix it? Just...you know. Just a thought that I had. Actually it wasn't even my idea. Yeah! It was...um...Emilyn! She thought that since it was so hot and muggy that you should, you know...fix the air conditioning in your car. That you own.

Sometimes life is random.

Other times it just kind of repeats itself.

Sometimes life is random.

...Okay, I'm done.

There was this one time I had to hug a tree!

I found Tiave's favorite scripture today. It's in Jacob, chapter 6, verse 12. It says this: "Don't be dumb; what can I say more?" I'm kind of paraphrasing, but that's pretty much what it says.

Have a nice day?

Camping and camping and camping and camping and camping...(just pretend that this goes on almost forever, okay?)

It's been ten years since I first went to Camp Taylor (some camp up in Idaho near Inkom). A lot has happened in those ten years.

Tanner (my awesome cousin that's only...5 years younger than me. But he's amazing, and he's pretty much my best friend, so no worries about the age difference) and I have found 5 or 6 hide-outs/club-houses and have abandoned almost as many.

We made bows and arrows using some sticks we found and an old shoe lace.

Using this same bow and arrow, I actually shot a deer. No, I did not kill the deer or in any way injure the deer. It pretty much just bounced off its side and scared it away. But it was pretty cool, all the same.

My uncle got married. Now they have five children and another on the way. :)

We went on a hike and found some chickens roaming wild. Unfortunately, our dog got to one of them. Sorry, chicken.

While digging around in some sawdust, we found a bunch of shiny, marble-like gem things...that was cool.

We hiked up to the top of a really high mountain overlooking camp.

We also biked that same trail. (Biking was harder...but more fun on the downhill.) :p

We found a skunk in our camp. And...the same dog that got the chicken also made friends with the skunk. Or...something like that. It smelled really bad.

This year we found another skunk in our camp. But don't worry, I scared it away. Emilyn thinks it ran away when it saw my face. ...that's probably not too far from the truth. At least this face is good for something.

We woke up one morning with a bunch of cows right in our camp. But...Idaho, remember? So...no big surprise.

I broke my dad's Walmart bike doing a wheelie... Sorry, Dad. But...Walmart bike. It was bound to happen eventually, right? ...maybe?

We happened upon a nest of angry hornets. That was an adventure...

A couple of my siblings learned to ride a bike. Some of them still know how...hee hee. ;)

We slept out on the grass on numerous occasions and watched the shooting stars until we fell asleep. Those were some of the most amazing shooting stars I've ever seen. :)

I went for a run to stay in shape for Cross Country.

I practiced the piano to prepare for a lesson.

(Those things only happened once, even though they probably should have happened every year...)

We found a huge termite's nest in one of the cabins. Ew.

We found a nest of baby robins. Cute little things. :)

We ate and slept and played and hiked and laughed and sang and talked and explored until we had to go home... :'(

But there's always next year. :)

Well, for everyone else. I will likely be on a mission in a year. So...three years. It's worth the wait though, don't worry. :)

That's pretty much all that's happened in the last ten years of my life. Well...at least during this annual 4-day family reunion. Isn't life just wonderful? :) :) :)

Have a nice day!

Once upon a time...

...I hadn't blogged for a few days.

So, I decided that I would blog today.

Once upon a time, I didn't really know what to blog about.

But whenever that happens, what do you do?

You blog about blogging.

But...

...once upon a time I had a life, and was kind of proud of myself that I had only spent like 10 minutes total in the last 3 days on the computer.

So, I'll save my blog-blogging for another day.

Once upon a time, I thought I would get bored of a movie after seeing it 9 times.

So much for that idea...

Once upon a time I was ADD.

Once upon a time, I was trying to find a good gift for a good friend, and the gift that I wanted to gift her didn't seem to exist on this side of the planet.

Once upon a time, I considered going to Hong Kong. Everything is made in Hong Kong, right? So, I could probably find it there...

Once upon a time, I didn't have the money to go all the way to Hong Kong...

Once upon a time, I hoped that my friend would like the gift that I will gift her instead of going to Hong Kong... :p

Once upon a time, I didn't know why I was "gifting" people. Why can't I just give someone a gift?

...idk.

Well, I think I've spent enough time here, so...have a nice day!
