It's not so much "whatever that means." It's whoever...

"Dear Elder Cannon: you are hereby called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Colombia Bogota North Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for a period of 24 months...You will prepare to preach the gospel in the Spanish language... "

I'm not bored.

I've tried to start a blog post probably 4 times in the last week or two, but I get to this point, and nothing happens. I'll put a title and then write a few words, and then realize that...I don't actually have anything to say.

That's probably the case with most of my blog posts, but instead of stopping and finding something useful to do, I just keep talking. Typing. Blogging. Whatever.

So, this post is just to let you know that I'm not bored. I'm...blogging. How could I be bored? Heheh...

Well, at least I'm not as bored as Jeffrey.

Word.

Right now I'm listening to "Out of My League" by Stephen Speaks. This is officially one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Yep.

Katie: What do you want to be when you grow up?

Joey: I would throw up in a bowl.

Sometimes I wish I were 2 years old again. Life was so simple and carefree...

So, life is good. I don't always wish I were 2. Just...sometimes. Most of my life consists of work, sleep and scripture study. So...not a bad life. It's a little repetitive sometimes. Like when I work 8 hours a day 5 days a week, and then work that same schedule for 3 months.

Okay, so basically just work is boring. I just have to find ways to keep me from going insane. I thought of one today that I'm guessing will keep me occupied for at least 2 and a half days. It's called the 8 queens puzzle. All you need is a chess board and 8 queens. You can also just draw a diagram in your notebook and draw circles on it as if they were queens. The puzzle is this: 8 queens must be placed on an 8x8 chess board so that none of them can attack any other using the standard chess queen's moves. So basically, you have to put 8 queens on the board where no two queens share the same row, column, or diagonal.

Anyway, apparently there are 12 solutions, and I figured out two of them in about 5 hours of work today. So maybe it will last me another few days before I figure out all 12.

I ate some oreos today. They were delish. Also, if anyone knows how to get an Oster blender to fit back in the original box with all the parts, I could use your help. This is more challenging than the 8 queens puzzle. Now I'm listening to Phil Collins' "You'll be in My Heart. Mmm... :)

6 weeks and 2 days left! Not that I'm counting...

I hope I can get work off this Saturday. They've been coming around asking us if we can work extra hours this week...so it might be hard to get work off, but I'm gonna try.

"My density has brought me to you." Heheh...good ol' Back to the Future. That reminds me of something. Here's your daily dose of uplifting...something. Heh. Well anyway, I thought it was funny...in a sad kind of way. :P

That's all for now folks!

...have a nice day. ;)

13 weeks from yesterday...

I'll be in the MTC!!! How crazy is that? Like, really crazy.

Aaaaanyway, I'm pretty much stoked. Still. My stokedness hasn't really changed. If anything, it has grown. I got a sweetawesome new mission camera! That was super-exciting. I still haven't decided what to name him though. I've never been amazing at naming things. Have I said this before? It took me practically until we sold it to name our old car...and then every time I referred to it as "The Ferrari" everyone was like, "You got to drive a ferrari? Since when?!" And then I would have to tell the whole story and how it wasn't really a ferrari, it was a 20 something year old Toyota Corrola.

Can you say, FAIL ?

My Caps Lock can.

Sometimes I tell funny jokes. The other 98% of the time, it's pretty much just more of that FAIL business...

Here's a picture for you:

There's a couple of good looking guys. Well...maybe one good looking guy. I never was much to look at. So...yep. My dad and I went skiing the other day. Skiing. That's the coolest word. It has two i's right in the middle. :) Skiing. Um. Anyway, we went skiing and had a blast! I had never been before, so my dad helped me get going, but I think I picked it up pretty quick. I'm not saying I'm pro or anything...because I'm really not. I didn't do anything harder than a fairly easy blue run, so...I'm not that amazing. I did enjoy it though, I will say that. I only crashed 3 or 4 times and only broke one ski pole, so all in all, I think it was a pretty successful trip. By the way, it was the stupid ski lift that ate my pole. Not really...we were just on our way up the mountain, and we were going to go past the first stop, where the lift seat gets really close to the ground so you can get off if you want, and I didn't even think to lift my poles out of the way. My pole got caught under the lift seat and bent pretty bad. It broke completely in half on the way down the mountain, so I stashed it at the bottom, and just got used to skiing without poles. It wasn't too bad once I got used to it. I just had to figure out how to balance using my arms, instead of the poles. The picture I posted was our "before" picture. We decided not to take an after picture. My dad said it would look just like the before picture only with hat hair, and more sweaty and tired-looking. We did get quite a few "during" pictures though, on my dad's cell phone. We got some videos too. On the way home, there was a really pretty sunset. I'm really grateful that I live in such a beautiful world. I'm also really grateful for an awesome dad that will take a day out of his week to take me skiing. I love my dad. :)

I started reading Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage. I haven't read very much, but it's already such an interesting book. Not only is it a powerful testimony of the divinity of the Savior, it's a detailed history of the events of His life. His...premortal, mortal, and post-mortal life. :) It's an amazing book. If you have time, you should read at least a chapter or two. It's jam packed with little spiritual nuggets.

Well, I'm looking at my Blog Post Checklist and I'm pretty sure I've done everything on the list. You know, told at least 7 dumb jokes, posted a picture, rambled about something completely pointless...you get the idea. I'm pretty sure it's time for bed now.

Have a nice day, y'all. :)

Some random thoughts...

...expressed in random ways.

Sometimes I feel a certain way, but I really can't express in words what it is that I feel. It's probably just my lack of eloquence and skill with words, but more than that, I think there are some feelings in this life that really can't be explained. Sometimes it just takes more than words. Maybe it's just a personal problem...who knows.

I saw a red-tailed hawk today. It was in a really random place, too. At least...random for a red-tailed hawk. I was driving up 8th East in Orem, right at the spot where it turns the corner and becomes 16th North. As I turned the corner, it flew from the grass on the left side of the road up onto a street lamp. Crazy! It was a beautiful bird. I had to drive by a couple more times to get a better look at it. Yep.

I think I want to read C. S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters again. It's such a thought-provoking book. I love it. I think I also want to reread Ender's Game. We'll see if either of those things happen. If I don't do it in the next 4 months, it won't happen for 2 years, so I might want to get on that. I have been reading number 11 of the Tennis Shoes Adventure Series...but that's more of a candy book. It's like watching TV...but without electricity. Okay, it might be slightly more fulfilling than watching TV. TV is usually just degrading. In my experience at least. Um, yeah. Anyway...

Adam Young is one of my heroes. For one, he's just cool. Two, his music is amazing.Yeah, it might all sound the same...but his lyrics are incredible! I really admire his brain. Also, he has a pretty good voice. It might be a little breathy at times, but I think it fits with the feeling of his music. One day, I hope to be as cool as this guy.

"If I'm your boy, let's take a short cut we remember
And we'll enjoy, picking apples in late September
Like we've done for years
Then we'll take a long walk through the corn field
And I'll kiss you between the ears"

Really, you can't beat that. He writes the happiest, most profoundly ...clever lyrics you'll ever hear. Love it.

Here's a bit of inspiration for your day:

Go get 'em!

...walking isn't all bad, right? ;)

Have a nice day...

Even random Wal-Mart shoppers know the truth.

Story time! :)

Once upon a time, I went to Wal-Mart. I happened to be wearing my BYU-Idaho t-shirt, even though at the time, I had not yet attended BYU-Idaho. I was walking toward the electronics department (pretty much the only entertaining department at Wal-Mart), when I spotted a nice sample lady giving out delicious samples. After consuming whatever delicious free food the sample lady had given me, I went to throw away my toothpick. There was a fellow sampler there trying her hardest to open the garbage can. It was one of those fancy type where you step on the pedal and the lid pops open. Well, I went over and did just that. Still wearing a somewhat confused look, she thanked me, disposed of her toothpick, and walked away. A random shopper who had been watching the whole thing said, "That's why you go to BYU-Idaho." I laughed, and agreed with him.
I then continued my journey to the electronics department, and not 15 seconds later, another (very nice) lady came blazing around a corner with her shopping cart and just about ran me over. She apologized quickly and hurried on her way, wherever it was she was going. A different random shopper who had seen the lady almost squash me flat said, "She goes to BYU-Provo." I really laughed this time. "That's exactly right."
I finally got to the electronics department, but it wasn't nearly as entertaining or fulfilling after what I had just been through. After all, "life is a journey, not a destination." (-Ralph Waldo Emerson) That was probably the most epic journey to the Wal-Mart electronics department I had ever taken.

So, when you're trying to decide which college is right for you, just take a trip to the electronics department at your local Wal-Mart. You'll find out quick which school is really the best choice. ;)

¡Ten un buen día!

Octobeard?

If you're ever in Rexburg, just know that Z103 isn't a very good radio station. Even if it does have some good music, it's deceiving. Don't fall for it.

Sometimes I wish I were a returned missionary. But most of the time, it's nice to just be able to make friends, and not have all that pressure to get married.

I'm kind of just having short, random thoughts tonight...my roommate is watching TV, and that's always a little distracting. P.S. don't ever, EVER waste your time watching TV. It's just plain not worth it.

Also, if you ever go to Craigo's Pizza, get the cookie dough pizza. It's the best!

Have you ever been to China?

Sometimes I wish I lived in China. "My mom says that if you eat standing up...it gives you gas."

...if you didn't get that one...just don't worry about it. :p

Sour. Sweet. Gone.

I've officially decided that lipsinking is one of the most retarted, painful things to watch ever. That reminds me...my uncle sang for a guy that was lipsinking in a movie. Like...it was his voice, and the actor was lipsinking.

You know what's a really good song? "Hey Soul Sister" by Train. It's one of my favorites.

My finger keeps hitting the d key. I think I erased them all, but...in case I didn't...I'm not retarded. I think...

"I'm bulemic." "You can read minds??"

I think I should probably get to bed. Work in 7 1/2 hours.

I love you all.

Have a nice day!

Random college metaphors...or something.

Sometimes when you have a TON of homework and you're really tired from walking 7 miles in one day it's a really good idea to buy some cheeseburger chips and Sunny D and just get yourself wired so you're more excited about being alive. Then maybe doing homework will actually be possible.

I had a funny thought earlier. It might have been yesterday. Anyway, I think that everyone that goes to college has a mullet. You know...business in the front, party in the back. That one. Well, I decided that some people's mullets are just longer than others. Some people party way more than anything else, and then there are those that care about the business part of college more. Their mullets are shorter. Now, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "joey, you're a complete and total idiot!" Well...you're probably right. But chances are I'm more attractive than you anyway.

How long is your mullet?

If you're ever in Rexburg around September, go find the apple tree on 2nd north. It has some of the most amazingly delicious apples you will ever taste.

Also, the D.I. here gives out copies of the Book of Mormon for free. Just...if you ever need one. You know, to read or give to someone...they're all free.

I had another random metaphorical thought about college, but I can't remember what it was. That's disappointing. Well...I'm kind of dead from eating so much sugar a couple hours ago. So...don't judge.

Oh! I remembered. I think there should be a way to declare intellectual bankruptcy. I don't really...just when I  have piles and piles of homework...I think it would be nice to just say, 'nope, sorry. I can't do any more homework. I'm intellectually bankrupt. I don't have anything left to give.'

Yup.

Well, have a nice day, eh?

I need sleep...

...and my feet got a bath.

Today I woke up around 9:30. I got out of bed, went upstairs, ate a piece of toast, washed a few pans, and then went for a bike ride with my sis. I think some other stuff happened too, but I don't remember.

It's late, okay? And I'm tired.

And I just remembered a quote: "I scrambled to the top of the precipice where Nick was waiting. "That was fun," I said. "You bet it was," said Nick. "Let's climb higher." "No," I said. "I think we should be heading back now." "We have time," Nick insisted. I said we didn't, and Nick said we did. We argued back and forth like that for about 20 minutes, then finally decided to head back. I didn't say it was an interesting story."

Yesterday I went to lay sod with Jenny Williams. It was pretty nice after the sun went down. There were nice clouds, and it wasn't hot. Really awesome conditions to work in. Well, we were almost done, and out of nowhere came about 500 kazillion mosquitoes. We left pretty quick after that, but the little hosers still managed to get me 13 times in those 4 minutes.

After I got home from the bike ride today, I called Jack Heaton. We hadn't done anything together in a long time, so we had decided that today when the sun was at it's highest, we would meet somewhere in between our houses and do something. Well, that something happened to be going to the Pick-a-Part junk yard and getting some things he needed for his van (and looking at all the awesome trucks. Duh!). This was probably the most fun I had had in a long time. I know, I know, I sound like such a guy. Well guess what? I am one.

"You best start believing in ghost stories, Miss Turner. You're in one!"

Um...yeah. Anyway, I'm a guy. I enjoy taking things apart. I enjoy it even more when I don't have to put them back together. ;) So, we had a blast. After we had all the parts we needed, we were just browsing around, looking at different truck styles and engine parts, and Jack was explaining to me how a clutch worked. Now, this was something that had been explained to me several times before, and I still didn't understand. So, in order to understand how a clutch worked, we found an old manual F-250 and took out the transmission so we could see the clutch ourselves. Now...um...that last sentence was about a 2 hour job. So...don't go thinking it was easy or anything. We were under that truck getting covered in dirt and grease and sweat for 2 whole hours. I don't think I've ever been as black as I was today after taking out that transmission. Every so often Jack would burst out laughing. When I would ask what was funny, he would say, 'We're dropping a transmission. For fun. Hahahahaha!' It was a pretty funny thing to do. Later, we both decided that it was the funnest waste of a day we'd ever had. Anyway, when we finally found the clutch, we took it out, and he explained how it worked again, but this time I actually kind of understood. Well, a little more than kind of. Like, it makes a lot more sense to me now, but if you asked me to explain to you exactly how a clutch worked, I probably wouldn't be able to do a very good job.

So, triumphant at last, we took all of our spoils back to the check out counter and payed a grand total of $5.50 for everything we had picked-a-part. I kept the clutch, just to have something to show for all that work we'd done. Maybe I'll hang it up on my wall...

Afterward, we went to Jack's house to, um, revert back to our original race. Once I had removed about 75% of the grease and grime, I called it good. I had scrubbed for so long, and so hard that if I had gone on any longer, I would've started seeing my bones...

Work was from 5:00-11:30. My legs and shoes were still pretty grimy, but oh well. I wasn't making sandwiches with my feet. Ew.

When I finally got home to take a shower, the drain was full of my sisters' hair. You see, the thing with sisters is that there are approximately 200 million things about having sisters that are good, and there are probably only 5 that are bad. Well...hair in the shower drain is most definitely one of those 5. So, I took a shower, and my feet got a bath.

Moral of the story?

Never play chicken with a semi full of rocket fuel.

Have a nice day!

Upside-backwards.

So, there's this new thing called 3D, and it's amazing. It's like, the whole world popping out at you. Well, not the whole world. That'd be insane, but the movie your watching is totally in your face. It's amazing. It's like, nothing you've ever seen.

...except for every day you've ever lived! 3D is pretty cool, but it's just fake stuff trying to be real. Like, whoa! It's 3D! Yeah...did you come from a 2D world? ...probably not.

So, number 11 for me was in 3D! I found it in 3D at the dollar theater, so I was really excited and took my sisters the day I found out. Which was today. Anyway, It was great. Even the 11th time. But I discovered something about the 3D-ness of it that was pretty interesting, and as it turns out, painful. I was sitting there, watching Hiccup almost get fried by the monstrous nightmare, and I thought it would be cool to turn my 3D glasses upside-down. It was one of the weirdest things I've ever experienced. All of a sudden, the stuff that was supposed to be up close and sticking out was in the background. And all of the stuff that was supposed to be in the background was sticking out! It was way cool. So, after I had played around, putting my glasses on every way I could think, I decided that upside-down was the coolest way to wear them. I kept them on for probably 4 or 5 minutes, thinking my eyes would adjust. Yeah...no. I heard this story once about an experiment a guy did with glasses, kinda similar... He wore these glasses that made everything turn upside-down, which I'm sure would be a pain. I'd be bumping into stuff all over the place. But, after a while (this is the important part), his brain flipped it over, so he was seeing everything normal when he had the glasses on. And then when he took them off, everything would be upside-down. Isn't that sweet? So, the human brain is smart enough to figure out that everything is upside-down, and flip it over! That's cool. Well, as I was wearing my 3D glasses upside-down, I was thought, hey, if I leave them on long enough, my brain will just switch for me, right?

Wrong. It ended up just giving me a headache (which I still have...5 hours later). So much for that idea.

Anyway, this is my warning to you all: Don't wear your 3D glasses upside-down. But if you do (because it's really pretty cool), only do it for a few seconds. Then switch them back before you get a headache, or get dizzy, or anything like that.

Have a nice day!

Random

Sometimes life is random.

Other times it just kind of repeats itself.

Like there was this one time, when I totally thought it was going to repeat itself, but then it didn't. Random!

I read a book once, and I thought it might be cool because it had the same name as this awesome movie, but I was disappointed. You see...the book was different enough to be lame, and...it didn't have a soundtrack. What's the fun in that?

I went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple today and did baptisms with two of my sisters. That temple is officially one of my favorites. Except for the name. It's a pain to spell. Especially because spell-check doesn't like it.

You want to know what I like? Air conditioning. It's pretty much amazing. The only thing is...I don't have air conditioning in my car. I wish I did. That'd be great. Hey dad...you know how your car has air conditioning, and it's really nice, and keeps you cool in the summer when it's really, really hot? Well...see...my car doesn't do that. And actually, see...it's your car. So...I was thinking, well, you know...maybe, um, you could...you know. Ahem...um...you could, fix it? Just...you know. Just a thought that I had. Actually it wasn't even my idea. Yeah! It was...um...Emilyn! She thought that since it was so hot and muggy that you should, you know...fix the air conditioning in your car. That you own.

Sometimes life is random.

Other times it just kind of repeats itself.

Sometimes life is random.

...Okay, I'm done.

There was this one time I had to hug a tree!

I found Tiave's favorite scripture today. It's in Jacob, chapter 6, verse 12. It says this: "Don't be dumb; what can I say more?" I'm kind of paraphrasing, but that's pretty much what it says.

Have a nice day?

Once upon a time...

...I hadn't blogged for a few days.

So, I decided that I would blog today.

Once upon a time, I didn't really know what to blog about.

But whenever that happens, what do you do?

You blog about blogging.

But...

...once upon a time I had a life, and was kind of proud of myself that I had only spent like 10 minutes total in the last 3 days on the computer.

So, I'll save my blog-blogging for another day.

Once upon a time, I thought I would get bored of a movie after seeing it 9 times.

So much for that idea...

Once upon a time I was ADD.

Once upon a time, I was trying to find a good gift for a good friend, and the gift that I wanted to gift her didn't seem to exist on this side of the planet.

Once upon a time, I considered going to Hong Kong. Everything is made in Hong Kong, right? So, I could probably find it there...

Once upon a time, I didn't have the money to go all the way to Hong Kong...

Once upon a time, I hoped that my friend would like the gift that I will gift her instead of going to Hong Kong... :p

Once upon a time, I didn't know why I was "gifting" people. Why can't I just give someone a gift?

...idk.

Well, I think I've spent enough time here, so...have a nice day!

Alive...I think...

So, it's been a while since I posted. Or since I've even done much on the computer at all. I went to a priesthood encampment Friday and Saturday, which was really awesome. They talked about a lot of missionary preparation kind of things, which is really what I need right now. There were some really awesome speakers, and fun activities (like eating sardines, because everyone knows that on your mission you'll have to eat stuff that's super-gross). Also they had some physically trying activities like canoeing across a lake 4 or 5 times, and then the next activity was doing as many push-ups and sit-ups as you could in 5 minutes. Needless to say, my arms were pretty tired. But...they weren't as tired as they were red. pink. ...whatever.

I had to leave early to get to work at 6 pm, and at work I found an anti-burn spray (probably meant for oven or toaster burns, but it felt really nice on my sunburn). Then after work, my dad and I picked up another young man that couldn't get of work, and headed back up to camp. I got to drive...I don't know why. Oh well. I was semi-confident in my driving-up-a-canyon-at-60-mph-in-the-pitch-dark skills. It wasn't too bad after the first turn or two. I got used to it more or less. And we didn't hit any cars, cement barriers, or deer. I'd say that's good news.

The next day was full of adventure. Red ants all over my dad, bottle rockets almost killing a few deacons...it was a great day. ;)

Then I got to work for...5 or 6 hours that night with a collared shirt on my sunburn. Isn't life just great?

After work I slept. ahhh... That felt really nice after a couple days of hard work. But then I was up at 8:30 to be to church on time (my dad's father's day wish). Normally I would just sleep in until...whenever, because the singles ward doesn't start until 1 pm, but I recently finished my Duty to God, so I had...sorry, got to come to my home ward to get my certificate and medallion...thingy.

Then I went to Matt's ward (also Spencer and Spencer's ward) to hear his parents speak before they leave to Jacksonville (tomorrow!!!) Matt, I really think your dad sounds like a general authority. :) And your mom practically made me cry. Maybe I'm just a baby, I don't know. My dad always has been one to tear up. I haven't really been a very emotional person, as far as feeling the spirit, or bearing my testimony...you know. But lately, I've been more...prone to tear up. Maybe I owe that to my dad... Anyway, their talks were amazing, and I'm really glad I went. :)

Then the third sacrament meeting I went to yesterday was my singles ward. The talks in sacrament meeting were pretty good. They were high councilors...so, they were good, but... I guess they just don't connect to singles as well as other singles do, y'know? Anyway, it was good.

So...that's probably all for now.

I am alive, yes.

I hope that's good news for y'alls... ;)

Hasta luego,

-Moscas

Blah, blah, blahg...

So, I'm posting today, not because I feel the need to say something, but because I have a friend that wanted me to blog today. Or...something. I'll probably get off on some ADD tangent and start theorizing about something anyway...

I voted today. Yay! It was my first time, since I just turned 18 a few months ago. That would make sense, I suppose. Anyhow...I went in, flashed some ID, signed my name, and they took me over to the fancy little electronic voting...station...thing. Then with the touch of a finger, or...3 touches of a finger, I was done voting. Just like that.

Now this is the part where my brain usually steps in with its distracting ADD...ness, and gives me something to ramble on about for...a long time. Probably longer than necessary.

...it's not happening.

Oh well. I might as well just go sleep.

Oh...I can't go to sleep. Not yet, anyway. My siblings are still at a baseball game, and I have to be the one to...make sure everyone gets in bed. My parents took a trip somewhere for their 20th anniversary, so I get to be the man of the house for the weekend. Another reason I want everyone to be in bed before I sleep is because I'm planning on camping out on the roof tonight. But if any of my siblings found out, they'd want to join the party. It's not that I just don't want them at the party...but...they're all cute little girls...and...roof...you know. Probably not the best idea to bring my little sisters up on the roof to spend the night.

So instead of going to sleep, I'm here blogging on and on. Isn't life just wonderful?

...that was a rhetorical question, and the answer was yes.

Have a nice day!

Today...

Today I backed a trailer for the first time. It was pretty cool. I only messed up once or twice.

Today I drove 5 of my siblings to three different places.

Today I killed some ants. Which reminds me of a quote: "Whenever I see an old lady slip and fall on a wet sidewalk, my first instinct is to laugh. But then I think, what if I were an ant, and she fell on me. Then it wouldn't seem quite so funny." -Jack Handey

Today I sprayed my lawn for weeds. I haven't seen any dead weeds yet...

Today is Tuesday. I will probably go to Institute tonight at 7. Who knows...

Today I studied Preach My Gospel for an hour. I think maybe I should have studied more.

Today I went to bed at 2 am after my internet died on me. Sorry to those people I was talking to online when that happened. :-/

Today is June 8th. There have probably been a lot of babies born today.

On the other hand, there have probably been almost as many who passed away today, too.

Today I am tired because of how late I was up last night.

Today I want to get to sleep early so I'm not so tired tomorrow.

Today I called to find out whether or not I have a place to live in Rexburg. I don't.

But I might. I'm hoping that today I get a call telling me that they have a place for me to live.

Today, that would be wonderful.

Okay, it'd be wonderful tomorrow, too. As long as it's not a call saying that they don't have an apartment for me...

Today my pectorals hurt. I was doing push-ups yesterday.

Today I am sitting here blogging because I don't want to go outside and load a dresser into the van to take to D.I.

Today is another day...

Bored?

Bored. What a funny word. One that I think is used all too often. When I was young, and I told my mom that I was bored, she would either just tell me to find something to do, or she'd give me a list of about 15 different chores I could use to help me get rid of my boredom. I love my mom. but...

I stopped being bored. At least...around her. :D

It's just funny to me that only a week or two ago, we were busy little high schoolers, working hard without much free time...but now that summer vacation is here, everyone is all of a sudden "bored" out of their mind. It's like some little switch kicks on that tells your brain that you don't know what to do with yourself.

Before I continue... most of my friends that have blogs of their own, they're really deep, and usually have some crazy awesome conclusions they come to at the end of every post. So, if that's what you're looking for, you're probably not gonna find it here. :) I tend to start writing about topics that have the potential to be really deep and profound, or even life changing, and then they end up just kind of...fizzling out. Not knowing where to go or how to come to any sort of conclusion. So sue me...I'm not Ghandi...or...anywhere close. I'd be lucky to be compared with some local journalist...

Where was I? Bored. That's right. I was talking about how being bored didn't exist 200 years ago. In Noah Webster's 1828 Dictionary, the term "bored" only existed as the past participle of the verb "to bore", as in...wood. People back then didn't get "bored". That might have been very painful, especially when you see the tools they used back then...

So I try to be funny...does it work? Maybe. My only hope is that I can be clever enough to keep someone's attention for the length of a post, without scaring them off. I'm probably not doing so well tonight...and I'd try to tell a joke or something, but my brain really isn't functioning like it's supposed to. That's not really surprising, seeing as it's 1 in the morning. I should probably get to bed soon, and spare you from my...non...clever...ness, right now...

Once upon a time, there was a little boy who wanted to go to sleep...

THE END.

Of this post.

Fer rills.

Goodnight,

Me...

So, since this is my first post and all, it should probably be all about me. Who I am, what I'm like, etc. Fortunately for all that read this post, it's not. I have never really been good at talking about myself, so we'll save that for a later time when I feel up to it. Or until...never. Whichever comes last.

Anyway, I started this blog because it seemed like all of my friends had one, so why shouldn't I? Also, the prophet said to keep a journal, so why not an online one? I've never been good at keeping a journal. Maybe this will help.

There are a lot of things that I've never been good at. Like sneezing with my eyes open! I've tried so many times, and I still can't quite get it...

So, today I went to the temple for the second time in 24 hours, and I decided that I really like the Provo Temple. I've been to the Salt Lake temple, and the Draper temple, and the Timpanogos temple the last few times, so I hadn't been to Provo for a few weeks. The ordinances are all the same, the prayers, the procedure. It's just the subtle differences in the execution of the ordinances, flow of traffic, etc. that is different enough to be distracting. (Another thing I'm not good at: getting to the point of my stories. Bear with me, they usually do have a point.) So, I decided that since I've been going to the Provo Temple so regularly, it's a lot better for me because it's what I'm used to. That way I can focus on the work that's being done instead of how it's being done. So, there's the point. Provo Temple = less destractions. Any other temple = a good but distracting experience.

I am ADD. Self diagnosed, maybe, but I am. I was typing that paragraph up there, and was suddenly thinking about how grateful I was to have Mrs. Snyder as an English teacher. She taught us all about comma use. So, I was grateful that I knew where to put the commas up there in that paragraph. That's the end of my ADD-ness for now. It'll be back though, don't worry.

Commas...where was I? Oh. Temples. I really enjoy going to the temple. It's right at the top of the list of places I like to go. Right underneath temples on the list is the top of Lake Mountain. That's my favorite outdoor place to be.

And now it's late, and I'm rambling. I think I'm gonna call it quits for the night. I'd say this was a wonderfully mediocre first post.

So, signing off. Or...um, signing out. Checking in. out... Whatever people say at the end of their posts. I think I'll just say, Have a nice day!
